Real Wedding: City Girl Meets Country Boy

It's the tale as old as time. They met in the streets of Brooklyn. Mitch was standing outside the bar, enjoying a cigarette when Marianne walked by, locking eyes as she said..."Smoking will kill you." The rest is history! Ha, but seriously, how great is the start of this love story?! And let me know tell you, these two could not be more perfect for each other.

You know two people are in love when they embrace the other person's interests. For Marianne, an East coast city girl, this means camping, hiking, fishing, and getting dirty in the mountains. For Mitch, this means loving chandeliers, all things gold and fabulous nights on the town.

Without hesitation, this is exactly what they do for each other, because it makes life more fun and worth doing because they are experiencing it, together. Not to mention the endless amount of laughing with and at each other and as many sarcastic jabs as genuine embraces. We should all be so lucky to find that person for ourselves!

The top 3 important things in planning this wedding. Keeping with Egyptian tradition (check). Adding personal details (check). Making sure everyone left with the feeling of "I didn't want the night to end!" (check).

We kept tradition through a Coptic ceremony, chanted entirely in Arabic (so beautiful!). We added personal details with an intimate vow reading (listen in the video above!). And of course, we made sure everyone left reluctantly by filling them with delicious food by Biscuits & Berries, an open bar by Peak Beverage and with high energy Arabic & chart-topping music from Elite Entertainment.

To blend Marianne's Egyptian over-the-top with Mitch's country understated, we brought their guests to Spruce Mountain Ranch in Larkspur, CO. The perfect venue to bring together a rustic, glam, mountain aesthetic.

  • Sweeping mountain & ranch views
  • Rustic building with beautiful wood beams
  • Blush, burgundy & gold color palette
  • Chandeliers with billowing chiffon & tons of candlelight

I could easily go on and on and on about how much I loved this wedding - thanks to an amazing vendor team (scroll to bottom) and more importantly, this couple. Each meeting equal parts work and play. Each idea met with creativity and excitement. Their lives together, unknowingly, started outside of a bar and I can't wait to see where they are headed next!

P.S. He quit smoking
